As we head into the season, things are already moving behind the scenes on our farms. Fields are being prepped, early crops are going in, and everyone is getting ready for the summer ahead.

Today, we were planning to lay plastic in the fields to get our early crops started. But with the ground still too wet, we had to hold off. It’s one of those decisions farmers face all the time—wait and risk falling behind, or push forward and risk doing more harm than good.

Now, with freezing temperatures expected tonight, it adds another layer of concern. Early plantings like corn and tomatoes can be vulnerable, and a single cold night can set things back.
