As we head into a new season, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes at Produce 54 Market. From getting the website ready to preparing for opening day, it’s an exciting time for us — but none of it would be possible without the people who make it all happen: our farmers.
Recently, we shared a look at Calloway’s planting the first corn of the season — a reminder that everything we sell starts long before it reaches the stand. It begins in the fields, with early mornings, hard work, and a commitment to growing quality produce.
We also shared a video of my dad out plowing the fields, getting the ground ready for what’s ahead. That’s where it all really starts. Before anything is planted, before anything is harvested, there’s preparation — and a lot of it. It’s a process that takes time, effort, and experience.
This year, as we’ve been working on launching our updated website, we realized how important it is to tell that story. That’s why we’ve added an “About Our Farmers” section — because Produce 54 Market isn’t just about what’s on the table, it’s about the people behind it.
Our market is built on relationships — not just within our own family, but with other local farmers who we work with throughout the season. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to provide the variety and quality that our customers count on.
Every item you see at our stand has a story behind it. Whether it’s fresh sweet corn, produce picked at peak season, or other local goods, it all comes from people who take pride in what they do.
When you shop with us, you’re not just supporting one market — you’re supporting a network of local farmers and families who make it all possible.
As the season gets closer, we’re looking forward to sharing more of those stories with you — not just what’s fresh, but where it comes from and who made it possible.
We’ll see you soon.
