Fourteen seasons ago, Produce 54 Market began with a simple idea - bring fresh, local food to our community and build real relationships around it.
But our story began long before the market stand.
Williamsville Farms, established in 1984 was started by my brother and my dad. What began as long evenings and weekends working the land - while they both held full-time jobs- slowly grew into something much bigger. It wasn't easy. It was built on hard work, belief, and a love for farming.
But they didn't build it alone.
The women in our family were just as much a part of its growth. My mom brought flowers to the farm and began growing cut flowers - adding beauty and color to what had started as rows of produce. This is a continued effort every season as the farm offers cut your own fresh flowers.
It was a family effort.
We wouldn't be here without all of them.
Though my brother has since passed, his legacy lives on in every season we plant, every harvest we bring in, and every customer we serve. What started as long evenings after full-time jobs has become the foundation of our family's livelihood - and now my main business.
Today my parents continue with their own farm stand. My children have been deeply involved in the farm and in Produce 54 Market. They grow alongside us, they help manage the stand, and they are truly the backbone of our market during the season. I couldn't do this without them. What began in 1984 as a side endeavor has grown into a multi-generational commitment to farming and community.
And our roots run even deeper.
Farming has always been part of our family story. My dad grew up on a farm in Laurel, Delaware, and today his brother continues that legacy at E.N.D Farms in Seaford, Delaware. We are proud to source produce from them as well - keeping that connection to family, tradition, and the land alive through each season.
Season 14 feels especially meaningful.
It feels like a return to what matters most:
Family. Community. Hard work. Local farms supporting local families.
We are proud to work alongside farmers who care deeply about what they grow. We are proud to serve a community that values fresh food and relationships built on trust.
Spring is coming, and with it, another season of fresh starts.
Every season is a reminder that what we plant today continues long after us.
We can't wait to welcome you back.
